Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong, born on February 8, 1984, is an American actor, comedian and producer. She is also a singer and comedian. Strong is known most for her work as an Saturday Night Live cast member between 2012 until 2022. Strong is the longest-tenured female character in the history of the show. Strong was an CalArts graduate who did improv at The Second City in Chicago. She is currently in a lead part in the Apple TV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon! (2021-present) and is also co-producing.



 



 Other roles she's been in includes voice-overs in The Awesomes (2013-2015), as well as supporting roles in films such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler and The Female Brain. In 2015, she hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner. In 2021, her debut book, The Memoir This Is Going to be Over Soon Soon, was published.



 



 She was nominated in the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series and Saturday Night Live.



 



 Early life



 Strong was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. She is the daughter Penelope Strong and William "Bill", who were both Associated Press bureau chiefs and until 2013, ran their own public relations firm. Penny Legler Strong is a nurse practitioner, having worked in numerous hospitals of the area. Strong's parents are divorced. Strong was fascinated by SNL from an early age. She enjoyed watching her friends re-enact sketches as well as watching the old SNL commercials on VHS. "I had a tape filled with the best commercials and was always wearing it." She has said that she was influenced by Phil Hartman.
